Under the National Food Security Act (NFSA), up to 75% of rural and 50% of urban people are entitled to government ration, which is currently free. An Antyodaya (AAY) household gets 35 kg per household per month; a Priority household (PHH) gets 5 kg per person per month. With One Nation One Ration Card you can collect the same ration from any ePoS ration shop in the country.
Who issues the ration card?
Your state government issues the ration card and decides which families are in the AAY or Priority lists. You apply on your state’s food and civil supplies portal. Every state’s portal is listed on the NFSA website under ‘Ration Card Details on State Portals’. The papers needed differ by state, so check your state portal.
